After a simple sketch I wetting in the sky on some places (light/soft spots)

I make three mixes ready in my mixing wells on my palet, one with French Ultramarine en Alizarine Crimson, the other with French Ultramarine en Raw Sienna ,
and only a last solution from  Raw Sienna  and water.

Keep it loose and wash the colours gently in, at the horizon add a little more water make it lighter there!
Keep some white spots in you painting! This will make the painting more alive
The water I wash in with the same colors that i used for the sky!

The land I give a wash from Raw Umber in a variation in tone.
Keep in some white spaces just like the sky

The trees are done with a mix from Winsor Blue en Burnt Sienna, I make various mixes of the same paint so it will be the same colourtone.

In the sketch I draw the tree in front of the farm, I decided to  paint the tree behind the farm for composition reason!

Offcourse as "the painter" you are free to do so, with human portraits, you can`t paint someones nose hanging on his ear, simply cause you like that better? With trees you can, without a question!

This is maybe a small step, but it makes the painting come together. It binds the picture and makes it work!
Begin to paint from the right side and makes the wash lighter as you go left, also at the bottom of the trees keep it lighter

The mix is made from French Ultramarine en Light Red, After the wash on the right side was still wet I dripped in a few extra drops of strong pigment, to dark it a little more

In reality the trees are in one line behind the farm and also every tree has a other colour, If I painted all those different treecolors This would distract the attention from the farm, So this is a good way to deal with it.

I give the farm some fresh colors with a mix from French Ultramarine  en Burnt Sienna some dark shadows on the roof, and dripping in some Burnt Sienna, and on the right a green line ont he lower part of the roof is allways working. Not overwork the farm!
"More is Less"
.
The grass I give some green tones, its not that important, follow the rounds of the farmland. And make it in the foreground slightly darker! Keep it simple! Makes some distant bush brushwork with the mix from the shadow of the farmroof
As  last I make some reflections in the water, use all colors that are left in the mixing wells, make sure that you are prepared for water, cauliflower effects are not the best looking features in water!
as last I make a big shadow from a tree outside the painting,
